Robin Hanson, PhD

Provost, Dean of Spirituality

Dr. Robin A. Hanson, PhD founder of the Institute, serves as Provost and Dean of Spirituality for the Galiah Institute of Spirituality and Wellness. A lifelong educator, researcher, and spiritual practitioner, Dr. Hanson brings more than three decades of experience in higher education, curriculum development, and adult learning to the Institute. She holds a PhD in American Studies, a Master's degree in Human Relations, and has taught extensively at both the university and community levels in subjects including history, anthropology, sociology, and the study of culture and belief. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to exploring the intersection of spirituality, human experience, consciousness, and personal transformation. As founder of the Galiah Institute, Dr. Hanson is dedicated to creating an educational environment that honors both academic inquiry and experiential wisdom. Her work emphasizes spiritual exploration, past-life studies, consciousness research, and the many ways individuals seek meaning, healing, and connection beyond traditional educational boundaries. Dr. Hanson is also the author of Beyond This Lifetime: When Past Lives Influence the Present and What We Choose to Remember—And What We Are Allowed to Forget. Through her teaching and writing, she encourages students to approach the mysteries of existence with curiosity, discernment, compassion, and an openness to lifelong learning.

Christi Clemons Hoffman, MA

Dean, Consciousness & Metaphysics

Christi Clemons Hoffman, MA, BCht, is a metaphysical educator, spiritual medium, Reiki Master, and Board-Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist dedicated to helping individuals explore consciousness, healing, and spiritual connection. She is also certified as a Level 3 Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) Practitioner and integrates intuitive insight, energy healing, and subconscious exploration into her teaching and client work. Holding a master’s degree and extensive experience in higher education, Christi has taught at the college level and is passionate about bridging academic inquiry with spiritual understanding. Her work emphasizes practical spirituality, personal empowerment, and compassionate healing through metaphysical studies, intuition development, hypnosis, and energy medicine. Christi is the founder of educational and spiritual initiatives focused on consciousness studies and metaphysical learning. I am Jamelle, owner and operator at Bare Roots Energy, here in Lawrence, Kansas. I am a Lifestyle & Behavior Change Coach, a practitioner and teacher of the Energy Healing Arts. I founded Bare Roots Energy Reiki & Meditation Center here in Lawrence, KS, in 2019, and specialize in the integration of Daily Wellness Practices and Healing Paths into the daily lives of my clients. Through this work, I assist individuals in fine-tuning their expression for creation and harmony, healing, and growth.​​ I have practiced energy awareness and whole-person wellness since my childhood, studied and taught the intricacies of anxiety, depression, and overwhelm as an educator since 2008, and now focus my work and skills on coaching clients through wellness and life-changing shifts. I am so passionate about the work that I do because of the profound change it has brought into my life and body, and into the lives of those I help each day. Through my work, I connect with individuals to understand their needs and dreams, and together we forge a path and plan to create a platform of healing and growth for them to springboard from. When we approach both trauma and goals from all four sides, the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, we can better see all our options as well as what we have yet to heal from to realize our dreams. Aside from my degrees in Special Education and Education Theory, I have trained as a Master Reiki Teacher and Healer, and as a High Priestess in the New Earth Priestess Studies with the Celestial Forest Institute. I am a Master Teacher and Practitioner of Usui Reiki Ryoho, Holy Fire Reiki, and Dragon Reiki; an Advanced Practitioner and Teacher of Source Light Infusion Therapy; an Advanced Practitioner of the Crystalline Consciousness Technique; a Behavior Change Coach; a Plant-Based Medicine Consultant; and a Special Education Teacher.

Carmen Turner-Schott, MSW, LCSW

Carmen Turner-Schott, MSW, LCSW, is a practicing licensed clinical social worker, psychological astrologer, author, and teacher with a national and international clientele. She has been working as an astrological counselor and with victims of trauma for over 30 years. She completed her Master of Social Work degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1999. She serves as Assistant Professor of Social Work for Pikeville University in Kentucky teaching in the Master of Social Work Program. The owner of Deep Divers Counseling she offers telehealth therapy working with military members, trauma survivors, individuals and families. Carmen has been researching the eighth and twelfth astrological houses for the past 30 years. An eighth and twelfth house person herself, she has personally experienced the energies and lessons of these two very spiritually transforming houses. Dr. Tambra L. Eifert is a retired professor with a PhD in Geology. Throughout her academic endeavors, she has obtained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Earth Sciences and has taught an assortment of courses, including Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Invertebrate Paleontology, World Oceans, Earth Sciences, and Environmental Hazards. She is also a certified Hypnotherapist, Level 2 Quantum Healing Hypnosis Practitioner, Reiki Master/Teacher, Author, and Shaman. Her mission is to guide others in discoveirng their own truths of who they are and honoring their emotional, energetic, and spiritual beings residing within a physical body. Mary Jane is an astrologer and tarot reader based in Geneva, Switzerland. After moving to Europe to pursue a career as a dental hygienist, Mary Jane studied astrology in French, while reading all the British and American masters of her art. In parallel to these studies, she plunged into the symbolic world of the Tarot that she uses often to deepen the inner sense of the outer, more Earth-based events indicated in a chart reading. More recently, she has included the use of Bach flower essences, of great value in helping her clients “get through” certain difficult planetary transits! Mary Jane has been consulting and teaching astrology for forty years and is still learning valuable lessons from each natal chart that comes across her desk.
